In Karachi, the Pakistan Navy has welcomed two new ships armed with powerful missiles, both of which were produced in China.

The induction ceremony for the 02 Type 054 A/P Frigates, named Pakistan Navy Shahjahan and Tippu Sultan, took place in the port city. The event was graced by the presence of Federal Minister of Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, who attended as the chief guest. During the ceremony, he praised the Pakistan Navy for its unwavering commitment to safeguarding coastal defense and promoting regional peace.

The naval chief commemorated the induction, highlighting its significance as a crucial milestone in the ongoing modernization of the naval fleet.

Furthermore, the Chief of Naval Staff expressed appreciation for the support of the Pakistani government towards various modernization projects of the Pakistan Navy (PN), as stated by DGPR.

The strong naval ties between Islamabad and Beijing go beyond mere naval affairs, as their defense cooperation has been flourishing for several decades. Regular joint exercises between their navies enhance maritime capabilities, interoperability, and overall maritime security measures. This naval cooperation effectively addresses shared security challenges faced by both nations.
