Lionel Messi's Stellar Performance Propels Inter Miami to Leagues Cup Quarterfinals

Lionel Messi continued to shine in the US, showcasing his brilliance with two crucial goals as Inter Miami secured their spot in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals after a thrilling penalty shootout on Sunday.

In a classic display of Messi's trademark skill, the Argentine maestro opened the scoring with a delightful curling shot from the edge of the box, beautifully assisted by his former Barcelona teammate, Jordi Alba.

However, FC Dallas responded emphatically, netting three quick goals to take a commanding 4-2 lead with just 10 minutes remaining. But Inter Miami didn't back down, and an own goal and Messi's exquisite curling freekick from outside the penalty area leveled the score at 4-4, setting the stage for a penalty shootout.

Once again, Messi showcased his composure by calmly converting his penalty, and 18-year-old Benjamin Cremaschi followed suit, securing a 5-3 victory for Inter Miami.

Messi's impressive form since joining the Florida-based club has been nothing short of remarkable. He has now scored two goals in each of his last three games, tallying a total of seven goals in his first four appearances for the team.

Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino acknowledged the immense impact of having the world's best player in the squad, stating, "It is true that we count on the best player in the world, and you can't ignore that."
