Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan vs Nepal, Babar’s Fantastic Knock of 151 Runs:


 Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening duo of Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman fell early in their innings. Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan formed a partnership of 86 runs for the third wicket. Subsequently, Babar Azam teamed up with Iftikhar Ahmed for a significant alliance of 214 runs for the fifth wicket.


Babar Azam showcased his prowess by achieving his 19th ODI century, securing the title of the fastest batter to reach this milestone. His remarkable innings saw him accumulate 151 runs from 131 deliveries, maintaining a strike rate of 115.27. His performance included 14 fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Iftikhar Ahmed displayed an aggressive style, amassing 109 runs off 71 balls, featuring 11 fours and four sixes.


Pakistan managed to score a total of 343 runs on the scoreboard within 50 overs. Nepal's Sompal Kami claimed two wickets, while Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket each.


Nepal faced a challenging beginning, losing three wickets in just the initial two overs of their second inning. Struggling against Pakistan's formidable bowling attack, Nepal struggled to accumulate runs. Sompal Kami contributed 28 runs, and Aarif Sheikh added 26 runs, but no other batter managed to make a significant score.


From the Pakistani side, Shadab Khan displayed remarkable bowling prowess, securing four wickets in a mere 6.4 overs spell. Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi also made valuable contributions, each claiming two wickets.
